Preparing our armed forces to provide aid in combat settings is a challenging task. It requires a controlled environment where soldiers are rigorously tested and must think critically under pressure. This controlled environment allows learners to safely apply their training—where mistakes, such as a patient's "death," can be reversed by simply restarting the simulator. Military personnel often operate in high-stress, time-sensitive situations where there may be limited resources and a lack of immediate medical support. By immersing soldiers in these challenging scenarios, CESI helps them develop the mental resilience needed to make life-or-death decisions confidently.

The Realism

The team uses makeup, props, and environmental elements to create immersive settings, such as simulating care in the confined spaces of a submarine for Independent Duty Corpsmen (IDCs). Soldiers who complete these intensive simulations are better prepared to respond swiftly and effectively when faced with real-world medical emergencies, whether on the battlefield or in more unconventional military settings.

Learners face scenarios such as mass casualty events, where they must triage patients, prioritize care, and work efficiently as part of a team.
